About This Project

This dashboard was developed to support climate-informed decision-making in Palau by improving access to locally relevant climate information and knowledge. It is intended to support community members, planners, and decision-makers in strengthening resilience to climate variability and change.

The project was developed by Pacific Research on Island Solutions for Adaptation (Pacific RISA) and the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) in close collaboration with the women of the Ngaraungiang Women Association (NWA) of Choll County. Their shared knowledge, expertise, and mesei shaped the design and content of the dashboard. Their taro patch in Ngarrard State represents a pilot for the project, which could be replicated in other areas with continued support.

The project was implemented in partnership with the Palau Ministry of Finance Bureau of Budget and Planning, the Palau Office of Climate Change, and the Palau Weather Service Office. Funding was provided by the Green Climate Fund under the Enhancing Climate Information and Knowledge Services for Resilience in 5 Island Countries of the Pacific Ocean (UNEP CIS-Pac5) programme.
